OAGM

Since 1981, the Austrian Association for Pattern Recognition has been a society of its own and operates also as a working group within the Austrian Computer Society (OCG). The purpose of the Austrian Association for Pattern Recognition (OAGM) is the ongoing exchange of information and experience, regarding the state and technology of pattern recognition and its applications between the members of the association and the international community. The activities of the OAGM are focused on the international and national scientific debate on pattern recognition.

A major activity to pursue the goals of the OAGM is the annual workshop which has become a traditional meeting for the image processing, pattern recognition and computer vision community from numerous central European countries with a constantly increasing number of international attendees. Several of the past OAGM conferences and workshops have been organized together with neighboring countries ( DAGM – Germany, SDVR – Slovenia ). This manifests the increasing computer vision activities in Austria and also in the surrounding countries (Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland) with which the OAGM has maintained close relationship and scientific exchange over the past 20 years.
